Due to their hydrophobic nature, sophorolipids are commonly used as biosurfactants. Sophorolipids also exhibit antibacterial, antifungal, spermicidal, virucidal, and anticancer activities. Sophorose has been identified as a potent inducer of cellulase gene expression in Trichoderma reesei fermentation studies. |
